Neuroscience Masterminds Collaborations With UCR Camp Highlander
March 22nd, 23rd, & 24th Camp Highlander Events
From March 22-24th, we contributed 3 neuroscience outreach sessions to UCR Camp Highlander's spring program with three one-hour outreach sessions for kids aged 7 - 8, 9 - 11, and 12 - 15. Leading these sessions were David Nikom, Camila Alvarez, Jamiela Kokash, Courtney Scaramella, Payton DePalma, and Victoria Wagner. Students learned about the different features of the brain that make use smarter than most animals and dissected real sheep brains to learn about all the interesting structures hidden underneath the surface!
November 23rd & 24th Camp Highlander Events
On November 23rd and 24th we joined UCR Camp Highlander's return to in-person programming with three one-hour outreach sessions for kids aged 7 - 8, 9 - 11, and 12 - 15. Instructors for this session included David Nikom, Camila Alvarez, Jamiela Kokash, Courtney Scaramella, and Payton DePalma. Alongside Astronomy Outreach and the NASA GLOBE team, we helped deliver engaging STEM sessions to kids that were delighted to get the chance to look at sheep brains up close!
