Neuroscience Masterminds Collaborations With Youth Programs
September 1st and 2nd REC Events
The first in-person Neuroscience: Masterminds session took place on campus on September 1st and 2nd 2021 run by David Nikom and Camila Alvarez!
This event was run in collaboration with Youth Programs at the UCR Rec Center and consisted of two days of two-hour after school sessions filled with hands on activities like Backyard Brains and sheep brain dissections. Two dozen elementary and middle schoolers controlled robotic claws with their EMGs, discovered neuroanatomy over real sheep brains, and learned the importance of taking out the brain stem during rounds of Zombie Tag!
